TRAVELING WITH KIDS, CAN BE FUN

Back when we were still single, traveling felt as easy as going to the mall. You just got ready and left. But now, after having children, there are so many things to prepare before a trip. Especially when your child is in the toddler stage—even small things like socks can easily be forgotten or lost.

Don’t worry, moms! Here are a few tips you can apply to make traveling with children more enjoyable and less stressful.

• Create a relaxed itinerary

Children are full of energy. It often feels like they have endless batteries. But that doesn’t mean they never get tired. When kids become too tired, they may become cranky during the trip. That’s why it’s better to plan only 2–3 destinations per day, so they can explore and enjoy each place without feeling exhausted.

• Choose a child-friendly departure time

Imagine waking up a sleepy toddler early in the morning just to catch a flight. That can easily turn into a stressful moment. It’s better to choose departure times between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM so your child doesn’t have to wake up too early and can even take a nap during the trip.

• Bring your child’s favorite snacks

Children are very active and burn a lot of energy. That means they need frequent snacks. Always bring their favorite snacks so when they get hungry, you don’t have to rush around looking for a place to buy food.

• Choose a family-friendly hotel

Kids get bored easily, so they love places with fun activities. Many hotels offer family-friendly facilities such as swimming pools, spacious rooms, or locations close to shopping malls. This makes it easier to keep your children entertained during the trip.

• Pack small toys in your child’s bag

Small toys that help kids stay focused—like puzzles or transformable robots—can keep them entertained while waiting in lines or during long journeys.

• Always bring extra clothes

Kids love to run around when they see open spaces. It’s great to see them being active, but after running around their clothes often get sweaty. Always bring extra clothes so they stay comfortable throughout the day.

• Stay flexible with your travel schedule

Sometimes parents really want to visit a specific destination on a certain day, but suddenly the little one becomes fussy because they didn’t sleep well the night before. In situations like this, it’s okay to change plans—maybe relax at the hotel instead. If it’s your last day, hopefully you can visit that place another time. What matters most is the family moments together, which children will remember when they grow up.

At SDDU Tour, we help many young families plan child-friendly and flexible trips, so parents don’t have to worry about their travel experience.

So moms, what are the biggest things you usually consider when traveling with your little ones?
