The tour will start in the afternoon, adjusting to the arrival schedule in Pangkalan Bun (flights should arrive no later than 10:30 AM). A local guide will pick up participants from the airport or hotel in Pangkalan Bun to head directly to the port in Kumai and then board a boat to Camp Tanjung Harapan for jungle trekking and a direct encounter with orangutans. In the afternoon, the journey continues by exploring the river while looking for a suitable place to spend the night. In the evening, we will stay overnight on the boat, with provided mattresses, pillows, and mosquito nets. The boat is also equipped with a toilet and bathroom.
Upon waking up on a peaceful morning, the chirping of birds and the sounds of nature will make your first morning in Tanjung Puting special. The second day of the journey continues to Camp Pondok Tanggui, coinciding with the orangutan feeding time at 9 a.m. Participants will walk to the feeding area, which takes about 20 minutes on foot. In addition to seeing orangutans, you can also see pitcher plants, which enjoy eating insects. After enjoying the orangutans, the journey continues by boat to Camp Leakey. To see the black-water river, we are treated to a panorama of the untouched forest. Upon arriving at Camp Leakey, we will trek through the forest again to observe orangutans in the Kalimantan jungle. Returning to the klotok, the journey continues along the Sekonyer River, ending with an overnight stay at the Firefly spot.
On the last day, we will leave the Tanjung Puting National Park area and continue the journey back to the port in Kumai. At 9 a.m., we will arrive at Kumai port, and if there is still time before heading back to the airport/hotel, we will take you to visit the longhouse and the Yellow Palace in Pangkalan Bun. The tour ends at 12 noon.
